Renovations, retrofits, and special projects

Mechanical work in facilities that stay open — phased renovations, retrofits, and special projects. Explicitly not new construction.

Mechanical renovation work

Most of our best work happens in buildings that stay open. Willis Mechanical plans renovations, retrofits, and special projects so facilities keep running while mechanical systems get better — not a greenfield construction pitch.

This page is not for new construction. We renovate and retrofit systems in occupied commercial and industrial facilities. If you need ground-up build-out, that is a different scope than what we frame here.

What renovations & retrofits covers here

  • Mechanical renovations in occupied commercial and industrial spaces
  • Retrofits that upgrade HVAC, chillers, refrigeration, plumbing, process piping, or controls without taking the facility offline longer than necessary
  • Special projects with tight schedules, design-assist, and fabrication when the plan demands it
  • Phased delivery coordinated around live operations and shutdown windows
  • Equipment replacements and system upgrades that grow out of service and reliability work

How we work

  • Clear scopes, intentional shutdown windows, and one accountable lead
  • Coordination with facilities, ops, and other trades on site
  • Plan the work around uptime — keep critical loads online wherever possible
  • Documentation so the next shift knows what changed
  • One Metro Atlanta team from planning through commissioning and handoff

Where it applies

  • Owner-occupied commercial buildings and campuses with aging mechanical systems
  • Industrial plants that need process or utility upgrades without a full outage
  • Hospitals, data-adjacent spaces, and other critical environments where phased work is required
  • Facilities that already run Willis for service and need the same team for the larger project

Not new construction

We frame this work as renovations, retrofits, and special projects in facilities that already operate. The goal is better systems with controlled downtime — not selling a ground-up construction package.

Renovations & retrofits FAQ

Do you do new construction?

No. This page is renovations, retrofits, and special projects in occupied commercial and industrial facilities — not ground-up construction.

Can mechanical renovations be done while the building stays occupied?

Yes. Most of this work is phased around live operations so facilities that cannot afford long outages stay online wherever the scope allows.

What systems are included?

HVAC, chillers, refrigeration (and CO₂ where applicable), plumbing/process piping, and related mechanical scopes — product splits stay intact.
